This error occurs when you are running on an older version of Microsoft Word. If your version is lower than 2003, when you try and open the wedding program template, it may quit upon double clicking. Check to make sure you are running Microsoft Word version 2003 and up.

 

If you are running on an older version and try to open the template file, it will open and then will unexpectedly quit. To check the version you are currently running follow these steps:

 

PC Windows/Vista:

• Start > All Programs > Locate the Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office Suite. If you have version 2003 or 2007, the listed name will indicate Microsoft Word 2003 or Microsoft Word 2007. If it does not have a number after the application name, your version is OLDER than 2003. You will need to download the latest version of Microsoft Word from http://office.microsoft.com. You can download their 60-day trial version.
• Alternatively, you can edit the template on another computer that runs any one of these applications and compatible versions.

 

MAC Users:

• Open your Mac Hard Drive folder > Locate Applications folder > Open your Microsoft Office application and start Word. File> About WORD > Should indicate Microsoft® Word X for Mac® Release 1 or Microsoft® Word X for Mac®

The more color that is on a template, the more ink you will use if you are planning on printing them on your home printer. All our program templates come with a front and back design for a complete and professional presentation. Here are some ways to cut printing costs and save ink for those who are printing on the home printer:

 

 Put your printer in DRAFT mode. The heads of your printer will not press down as hard and therefore will conserve ink. The colors will be more subtle and softer in this mode. The lettering may not be as crisp but do a test print to see if it is going to be acceptable to you.

 

Remove the back design of the template. You can remove the back design and just have the front design on the program, if you desire. You can also print the back and inside text in black and white and have the front cover only in color.

 

If you are going to take your completed program to an offsite printer, you will be charge for each page of color printing regardless of how much color is on that page. So we recommend you leave the front and back design backgrounds in place.

Print the programs on good quality paper such as a 32 lb. white paper, pearl paper, or textured. Choose the paper weight that is not the standard copy paper. This will ensure your program holds up nicely after assembly and distribution.

 

Your program should be printed on a good quality color printer. If you have one at home that prints good quality photos, then you can certainly use that to print this program. If you would rather take it to an office supply store, they will have a high quality laser printer. We also provide professional printing services on a high quality printer.

Yes, you can. You can add as many pages as you'd like. We offer helpful video tutorials and written instructions on how to create additional pages within any of our templates in Word, Publisher and Apple iWork Pages. All our wedding program templates are created in Microsoft 2003 and is able to be edited with any version of 2003 and up. They are also ready for editing. If you are not able to edit your template, please make sure you have the Microsoft Word application (not Microsoft WORKS) and check proper version for the template you ordered is installed on your computer.

 

Microsoft Viewer is not an application and therefore will only “view” any document in Microsoft Word. If you do not have the Microsoft Word application installed on your computer, when you double click on the template, the default application Microsoft View will open your template in "read only" or "view" format. You will not be able to edit any fields when this occurs.

 

If you do not have Microsoft Word, Publisher or Apple iWork Pages installed on your computer you can download the free trial version from their website and install it on your computer. You will then be able to edit our funeral program templates accordingly.

Yes! You can easily do that and save costs. Then you will only be paying for printing the front and back cover design, which is on the same page inside the template. Keep in mind if you insert any photos on the inside of the program, it will be printed in black and white as well. You could place the photo(s) on the front or back cover, since you will be printing those pages in color.

If you customize the template by over typing the filler information we already have inside, it is unlikely that the template will get messed up. It is a good idea and general rule of thumb to copy the original template before you start customizing it.  That way you will always have a fresh copy on hand in case anything happens.

Sometimes, downloaded files may encounter some problems during a download depending on your type of internet connection. Also, Windows Vista may have some problems opening certain zipped files.

 

If you encounter any problems opening your zip downloaded file, please contact us immediately. Because of the varying software programs installed within a computer, you may need to download the wedding program template in its original application format, which we are happy to send you through an email attachment or private download link.

 

Not all computer encounter this issue and you may not have any problems opening up the zip downloaded file. Just be assured that if this does happen to your computer, we have the solution! 

In Microsoft Word 2003 and Publisher, sometimes when you do a print preview, you may see an uneven white border around the perimeter of your wedding template document. The white border appears thicker on the right side of the document than the other areas. This is due to your print driver settings.  In order to get an even white border when printing or no border at all (for the printers that have the borderless feature), you need to make sure your margins are set to 0 and the paper size is set to letter borderless.

 

This issue is not a template problem but rather can be corrected through a setting within your print driver. You may also need to update your printer driver, if you have an HP Printer over 3 years old.

 

Every printer is different so you may or may not experience this issue. If you see this when doing a print preview for your home printer and plan to take this to an offsite printer, you should not see this in the final printed document. The print facility will know how to set their print driver to manage this issue.

We have two different types of templates, one that is fully customizable which means you are able to change up the titles and enter your own information for all text boxes, including the front cover. These templates will require that you use your own fonts found on your computer.

 

We also have preprinted titles on the front cover that are created with our special wedding scripting. The preprinted title templates are not editable on the front title however, everything else within the template is fully customizable to your specifications. These titles are embeded in the background so you are able to have the beautiful wedding scripting without having this font on your computer.
