Not to worry, the view layout within your Microsoft Word applicaton may be set incorrectly.

Within Microsoft Word, select VIEW > PRINT LAYOUT and your template will display as it should. Within the wedding program template, there are a total 2 pages which are predesigned and preformatted for you. The front cover and back are on one page and the inside page is on Page 2. You can now edit as normal.

If you follow the easy instructions provided for you, you will be able to create a beautiful wedding program for your special day. You can always phone our customer support line to speak to a live operator for assistance. 

This error occurs when you are running on an older version of Microsoft Word. If your version is lower than 2003, when you try and open the wedding program template, it may quit upon double clicking. Check to make sure you are running Microsoft Word version 2003 and up.

If you are running on an older version and try to open the template file, it will open and then will unexpectedly quit. To check the version you are currently running follow these steps:

PC Windows/Vista:

• Start > All Programs > Locate the Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office Suite. If you have version 2003 or 2007, the listed name will indicate Microsoft Word 2003 or Microsoft Word 2007. If it does not have a number after the application name, your version is OLDER than 2003. You will need to download the latest version of Microsoft Word from http://office.microsoft.com. You can download their 60-day trial version.
• Alternatively, you can edit the template on another computer that runs any one of these applications and compatible versions.

MAC Users:

• Open your Mac Hard Drive folder > Locate Applications folder > Open your Microsoft Office application and start Word. File> About WORD > Should indicate Microsoft® Word X for Mac® Release 1 or Microsoft® Word X for Mac®

If however, you are running on a current version and still experience problems, sometimes it could be due to an incomplete download. Try downloading the file again. If you need us to resend you the links, please contact us (510) 417-2406 or send us an email.

If you are running an older version than Microsoft 2003, you can optionally download a current version of Microsoft Word.  

All our wedding program templates are created in Microsoft 2003 and is able to be edited with any version of 2003 and up. They are also ready for editing. If you are not able to edit your template, please make sure you have the Microsoft Word application (not Microsoft WORKS) and check proper version for the template you ordered is installed on your computer.

Microsoft Viewer is not an application and therefore will only “view” any document in Microsoft Word. If you do not have the Microsoft Word application installed on your computer, when you double click on the template, the default application Microsoft View will open your template in "read only" or "view" format. You will not be able to edit any fields when this occurs.

If you do not have Microsoft Word, Publisher or Apple iWork Pages installed on your computer you can download the free trial version from their website and install it on your computer. You will then be able to edit our funeral program templates accordingly.

Sometimes, downloaded files may encounter some problems during a download depending on your type of internet connection. Also, Windows Vista may have some problems opening certain zipped files.

If you encounter any problems opening your zip downloaded file, please contact us immediately. Because of the varying software programs installed within a computer, you may need to download the wedding program template in its original application format, which we are happy to send you through an email attachment or private download link.

Not all computer encounter this issue and you may not have any problems opening up the zip downloaded file. Just be assured that if this does happen to your computer, we have the solution! 

For MAC OS X users, we recommend using iWork Pages®. If you have the iWork application installed on your computer, purchase a wedding program template for Apple iWork Pages®. Although Although Pages can open and edit Microsoft Word .doc files, we believe you will not encounter any problems during editing if you begin from a template specifically created for Pages.

Because opening a WORD document causes a conversion process, there may more likely be errors when opening up an original Word document, rather than opening a document that was created specifically for Pages.

The PC applications also allow conversions from Word to Publisher however, we do not recommend doing this since the conversion may not be error free when using your funeral program template. Always choose the template made for the application you are using.

Apple iWork Pages® is a great application which provides a user friendly interface and we know you will love working with this application. If you don't have iWork installed on your MAC, download the most current free trial version. If you are not familiar with Apple iWork Pages®, we can help!
